Terms & Conditions of Sale & Installation
Lisburn Blinds
These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, orders, supply, delivery and installation of goods and services provided by Lisburn Blinds (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“the customer”).
By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1. Definitions

“Goods” means made-to-measure blinds, shutters, curtains, awnings, motors, and related products supplied by us.

“Installation” means fitting work carried out by us (excluding trade supply-only orders).
2. Quotations
-
All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
-
Quotes are based on information available at the time, including access, site conditions, and measurements.
-
Any changes requested after acceptance may result in a revised price and/or lead time.
3. Made-to-Measure Products
-
All orders are custom-made to your agreed measurements and specifications.
-
As goods are made to measure, orders cannot be cancelled once manufacturing has started, except where required by law.
4. Deposits & Payments
-
A 50% deposit is required to place an order and begin manufacture.
-
The remaining 50% balance is due on the day of fitting, before or immediately upon completion.
-
For trade supply-only customers, payment terms will be as agreed in writing.
-
We reserve the right to delay delivery or installation if payment terms are not met.
5. Ownership of Goods
All goods remain our property until paid for in full, even after installation.
6. Measuring Responsibility
-
Where we carry out the survey and measurements, we accept responsibility for accuracy.
-
Where measurements are provided by the customer or a third party, responsibility rests with them and we cannot accept liability for incorrect sizing.
7. Installation & Access
-
You must provide safe, clear access to the installation area on the agreed date.

We are not responsible for delays caused by:
-
restricted access
-
unsafe working conditions
-
structural issues not apparent at survey stage
-
-
Additional visits caused by lack of access or unfinished works may be chargeable.
8. Surfaces & Existing Conditions
-
Installation may involve drilling into walls, ceilings, tiles, brickwork, or window frames.
-
We are not responsible for:
-
pre-existing defects
-
cracking or flaking plaster
-
loose tiles
-
hidden pipes or cables
-
fragile or unsuitable surfaces
-
-
Any making-good beyond normal fitting (including plastering, decorating, or electrical work) is not included unless agreed in writing.
9. Delivery & Lead Times
-
Lead times are estimates only and are not guaranteed dates.
-
Delays may occur due to manufacturing schedules, supplier issues, weather (particularly for awnings), or circumstances beyond our control.
-
We will keep you informed of any significant delays.
10. Child Safety
-
We comply with current UK child safety regulations for blinds and window coverings.
-
Where applicable, blinds will be supplied and installed with appropriate child safety devices, including cleats, tension devices, or cordless systems.
-
These devices reduce risk but are only effective if correctly used and maintained.
Customer responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
-
ensuring safety devices remain properly fitted and used
-
keeping blind cords and chains out of reach of children
-
supervising children around window coverings
Safety devices must not be removed, altered, or disabled.
Changes after installation
We cannot be held responsible for child safety issues arising from:
-
alterations made after installation
-
furniture placed near blind cords or chains
-
damage, misuse, or removal of safety devices
Trade customers
Trade customers accept full responsibility for child safety compliance, correct installation, and providing safety warnings to the end user.
11. Cancellations & Consumer Rights
-
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
-
As goods are made to measure, the usual 14-day cancellation right does not apply once manufacture has begun, unless goods are faulty or not as described.
12. Warranty & Guarantees
Installation guarantee
-
We provide a 1-year workmanship guarantee on our installations.
Manufacturer’s warranties
-
Standard products: 1 year
-
Motors: 5 years
Warranties do not cover:
-
fair wear and tear
-
accidental damage
-
misuse or lack of maintenance
-
alterations or repairs by others
13. Defects & Snagging
-
Any defects or issues must be reported within a reasonable time after installation.
-
We must be given the opportunity to inspect and remedy issues before any third-party repairs are arranged.
14. Limitation of Liability
-
We are not liable for:
-
indirect or consequential losses
-
loss of earnings or business interruption
-
-
Our liability is limited to the value of the goods and services supplied, except where the law states otherwise.
-
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Trade Customers (Supply Only)
Trade customers are responsible for:
-
measurements
-
suitability of goods
-
installation and regulatory compliance
Goods supplied to trade are non-returnable unless faulty.
16. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure caused by events beyond our control, including supplier delays, weather conditions, illness, transport disruption, or material shortages.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
